Social Function,Structure Text,and Language Features of Narrative Text

Saya mau nge-share salah satu pelajaran yang pernah saya pelajarin di sekolah. Semoga ini dapat bermanfaat bagi yang membaca, juga semata-mata agar saya tidak lupa dengan apa yang sudah saya pelajari hehehe...


I. Find a story (Folklore/Legend)


The Origin of The City of Banyuwangi

Once Upon, there was a local ruler named King Sulahkromo thing. Prime Minister King has named Raden Sidopekso. Prime Minister 's wife has named Sri Tanjung. She is so beautiful and sweet that the king wanted her to be his wife. One day, the King sent the Prime Minister for long missions. While the Prime Minister went, the King tried to get Sri Tanjung. But the king failed .
He was very angry and upset. So, when Sidopekso back, the King told him that his wife was unfaithful to him. Prime Minister is very angry with his wife. Sri Tanjung said that was not true. However, Sidopekso said that he would kill her. She took him to the river bank.
             Before he killed him and threw him into the river, he said that he will be proven innocent Once Sidopekso kill him, he threw his body into the river dirty. River soon became clean and start spreading the wonderful aroma and very fragrant. Sidopekso said, " ... Banyu Wangi ... Banyuwangi ." It means ' fragrant water .' Banyuwangi proof of love born of noble and sacred. that's the origin of the town of Banyuwangi. 

 A Narrative or story is any report of connected events, presentend in a sequece of written or spoken words, and/or in a sequence of (moving) pictures.

II. Analyze

a. Social Function
  1. To entertain or amuse the reader or listener
  2. To tell stories or past events

b. Text Sructure
 1. Orientation
     it is about the opening paragraph wherethe characters  of the story are introduce.
Example:
 Once Upon, there was a local ruler named King Sulahkromo thing. Prime Minister King has named Raden Sidopekso. Prime Minister 's wife has named Sri Tanjung. She is so beautiful and sweet that the king wanted her to be his wife.

  2. Complication
      Where the problems in the story developed
Example:
 One day, the King sent the Prime Minister for long missions. While the Prime Minister went, the King tried to get Sri Tanjung. But the king failed .

  3. Resolution
      Where the problems in the story solved
Example:
 Before he killed him and threw him into the river, he said that he will be proven innocent Once Sidopekso kill him, he threw his body into the river dirty. River soon became clean and start spreading the wonderful aroma and very fragrant. Sidopekso said, " ... Banyu Wangi ... Banyuwangi ." It means ' fragrant water .

  4. Reorientation
      The ending of the story
Example:  Banyuwangi proof of love born of noble and sacred. that's the origin of the town of Banyuwangi.

III. Language Features

  •  Using Past Tense
They can use simple past tense, past continous tense or past perfect tense.
Example: -She took him to the river bank
               -That the king wanted her to be his wife
  • Using Adverb of time
Exampele:
-Once upon a time, there was a....
-One day, the king sent...
  • Using action verb
Example: Before, he killed him and threw him into the river
  • Using temporal conjunction
Example:
Before, he killed him and threw him into the river 
- While the Prime Minister went...
- So, when Sidopekso back...
However, Sideopekso said that....
  • Using direct speech
Example:
Sidopekso said, " ... Banyu Wangi ... Banyuwang.

  • Using specific noun as pronoun of person, animal in the story
Example:
The King, The Prime Minister, etc

Moral Value

- Dont believe the information from someone easily without searching first and think first before you make the desicion.
- Done ever slandering other people.
